Coy + Porcupines don't mix!

Today when we woke up it was beautiful and we decided to go try one of the local beaches. The beach we chose was "brian's kind of beach" because not only did it have all the amenities that Jen loves in a beach (white sand, clear water, no jellies, not very crowded) there was a 3.5 km hiking trail directly off the beach that overlooked the ocean. While I (Jen) took a dip in the icy  ocean, Coy and Brian decided to check out the hiking trail. Well... remember how I said I would tell you WHEN Coy got himself into trouble, today was his day. Brian and Coy returned about 15 minutes after they started off for the trail, long story short, Coy had gotten tangled up with a porcupine and there were numerous quills in his muzzle, the top of his mouth, tongue and under his tongue (he was obviously trying to bite the porcupine at the time of impact) Luckily, Brian removed most of them immediately and Coy seemed fine after that. Coy is now sound asleep on the couch (again) so I assume he is no longer in pain. After our beach trip, we stopped by a local art gallery in Lunenberg and bought a small print and chatted with the artist himself a little bit before a delicious dinner at  Trattoria Della Nonna (Compliments of Jesse, Shane & Jonah - Thanks guys!!!).  I had penne pasta with lobster and Brian had salmon, delish! We stopped by Blue Rocks again on the way home to see what the light was like at sunset, Brian took some great shots and then it was back to the house for another nights rest. Tomorrow we plan on going to the Mahone Bay Classic Boat Festival to see what that is all about. We will be checking out of our place on Friday morning and heading towards home. This week really flew by!

Hey guys,
we've been checking this site out since I received the e-mail link yesterday, and have been totally captivated by the beautiful pictures...I have always wanted to go to Maine and these pics just prove why. After I shared the link with Jeff while he was at work yestrday he called my back and told me to start packing that we could leave as soon as he gets home...I wish! He just called me now to tell me that you guys updated the site and I was like, "yeah, I know I was just looking at it"..soo funny! We are both completly hooked! Anyway, I hope the backside of your moonie goes as well as it has been for you so far, and good health wishes for Brians knee and Coy. We'll have you two over for dinner sometime when you get back to see all the pics.
Love, Cousins Beth, Jeff, Jada and Cole
P.S. That camping view makes me want to melt, must have been breathtaken.
